Aloha & Namaste.
Devavani Conroy grew up in the beautiful Hawaiian Islands surrounded by a yoga community and has been practicing since childhood. This experience gave her a deep appreciation of all that yoga has to offer physically, mentally, and spiritually and a deep understanding of Bhakti Yoga. She started practicing martial arts at the age of 13 in the Philippines studying Tai Chi, Arnis and Tae Kwon Do. Achieving her 1st degree Black Belt in TKD, she has competed and won in international and national Tae Kwon Do competitions and became a junior instructor at the age of 17. Helping to enrich her students by creating a physical discipline brought a lot of joy and inspired her to find another outlet to connect with others after an unfortunate injury in Martial Arts. This led her to re-connect and re-discover the beauty and strength that yoga offers.
Devavani received her yoga teaching certification from Tamal Dodge’s TT program in Venice, CA and received her Yoga Alliance teaching credentials in 2013. She began teaching on the north shore of Maui offering group classes and private sessions and hopes to bring that Aloha Spirit [the joyful sharing of life energy in the present] into the classes she teaches here in California and around the world.
She is a student of life and is always looking to grow and evolve both personally and as a teacher.
